FriendsPros is a free app for finding a good contractor without posting “anyone know a good plumber?” and waiting for replies. Members recommend the plumbers, electricians, HVAC techs, roofers and other pros they have hired and would hire again, so the answer is already there when you need it.
It works the way word of mouth always has: a friend tells a friend about a pro who did a great job. We just keep those recommendations in one place.

Invite the people whose opinion you trust. They accept, and you are connected.

Pick a trade, like plumber or electrician, and see the pros your friends, their friends and your neighbors have hired and would hire again.
Hired someone great? Recommend them in a few taps, with a short note and tags like On time or Fair price. You can change your mind and withdraw a recommendation privately at any time.
Organic. Never paid for.
Every recommendation comes from a member who hired that contractor and would hire them again. Contractors can’t pay to be recommended, to move up the list, or to have a recommendation removed.
Star ratings from strangers you can’t check, mixed with reviews that may be fake, bought or written in anger.

Recommendations from friends work anywhere in the U.S. To help you get started, FriendsPros also lists local contractors nobody has recommended yet, marked “Not yet recommended.” Those listings began in Vestal and Broome County, New York, and are being added area by area as members join.
